Guj CM discusses planning of upcoming Shala Praveshotsav with ministers and officers

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel today held a meeting with ministers and officers for planning and implementation of the upcoming 13th Shala Praveshotsav and Kanya Kelavani Rathyatra. During this high-level meeting, she exhorted those present and others through video conference, to put in all efforts for successful school enrolment of children across the state. Shala Praveshotsav and Kanya Kelavani program will be held across the state on June 11, 12 and 13 in rural areas and June 18, 19 and 20 in urban areas.

CM Smt Patel shared details of various initiatives taken up by the state government in the direction of grooming children in extra-curricular activities, based on their interest. She spoke about the successful efforts like state-wide drawing competition for children based on subject of Mahatma Gandhi and Cleanliness, sports training camps for sports enthusiasts and Student Police Cadets. She said that the state government will continue to shape up the talent of children in various areas like music and computer, by providing them the necessary training and practice.

CM Smt Patel guided the officials and ministers on the following:

  • To focus on cleanliness of school premise, villages and eradication of malnutrition in children
  • To pay attention to cultivate reading and writing skills in children from childhood
  • To put special efforts towards improving and upgrading grade C and D schools as per Gunotsav reports
  • To keep monitoring the progress of schools that the officials visit during Shala Praveshotsav periodically
  • To ensure successful functioning of Model schools and Eklavya schools
  • To focus on activity-based learning for students
  • To extend education to each and every child of the state, including tribal and border areas
  • Those schools who have reported 100% results, should adopt other school and help them to improve their results
  • To engage the college youth in spreading awareness for education; every college should adopt a school and help them in betterment of students’ performance
