Gujarat State wins 3 Awards 

The Computer Society of India’s Special Interest Group on e-Governance has instituted a series of awards for recognizing the contributions made in the field of e-Governance in the country. These awards have been sponsored by Nihilent Technologies Ltd. The awards are given for recognizing the efforts made in e-Governance area, specifically during the year between 1st April 2010 and 31st March 2011 at the State, Department, District and Project level.

There is active participation for these awards from State and Central Government establishments, Departments, District authorities and many Undertakings, research establishments.

These Awards are instituted for recognizing ICT initiatives by both State and Central Government establishments/ Institutions, in the following categories both at the State and Central level, within India.

1. Award of Excellence - State Category

2. Award of Excellence - Department Category

3. Awards of Excellence - District Category

4. Award of Excellence - Project Category

Evaluation Criteria for the Awards:

The evaluation criterion is based on two indicators i.e. Results and Enablers. The quality of content submitted by the applicants for the nominations will be of most important part of the evaluation process. Each nomination entry should accompany a mandatory “Statement of Intent” stating the reasons for nominating the entry to CSI - Nihilent e-Governance Awards 2010-11.

Gujarat State has won 3 Awards in the following Categories:

1. In Department Category - Award of Excellence:

e-Governance at Chief Minister’s Office, Gujarat

2. Project Category G2B -Award of Excellence:

e-Governance of Mineral Administration (Geology & Mining)

Department of Industries & Mining, Gujarat

3. Sustainability Award (New Award) – Awards of Appreciation

e-Dhara, Revenue Department, Government of Gujarat

These awards are presented by Prof.V. Rajaraman, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, in presence of Shri M D Agrawal, President, CSI, Industry Representatives, Academicians, Senior members from all over the country and Government officials.
