Gujarat Chief Minister adopts Lilapur as ideal village under MLAs’ Adarsh Gram Yojna

Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today adopted the Lilapur village of Daskroi takluka in Ahmedabad district as an ideal village under the MLAs’ Adarsh Gram Yojna’.

Keeping in tune with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement on Independence Day asking every MP to adopt one village in their respective constituency, Smt. Patel herself set the example in the state asking each MLA to adopt one village taking the people along to convert that into an ideal village. Smt. Patel directed the administration to hold meeting with village elders to provide the physical amenities as part of development projects in a time bound manner. She reiterated her government’s commitment to provide a toilet in every home in two years. She asked each villager to voluntarily pick up a task. Cleanliness keeps diseases at bay, she emphasized.

The former village sarpanch of Lilapur gave a detailed outline of the campaign for cleanliness vis-à-vis the current situation. A presentation of the Prime Minister’s guideline for ideal village was also made on the occasion, in consonance with Antyodaya Vikas meaning development of the last man in the last mile. Its objective is not just providing electricity but also spreading enlightenment through education, raising the standard of living and inculcating cleanliness as a matter of habit.
