Vice President Shri M.Hamid Ansari has exhorted rural managers to play a larger role in achieving inclusive growth, social justice, and equality. Remaining committed to the ideals of our constitution, they will utilize the knowledge and skills to achieve the vision, he added.

Delivering convocation lecture at 30th annual convocation that was held at IRMA in Anand on Tuesday the Vice President said, “Rural managers have to work for expanding the footprints of organized sector, modernizing marketing systems. They also need to make efforts to further improve the credit mechanism, transport, veterinary and dairy infrastructure.” Vice President added that it is very crucial to ensure that there is a strong supply chain to meet the enhanced demand.

White revolution across the country has paid rich dividends, our milk production has increased six times, from 17 million to 112.5 million, today our country is No-1 in milk production, added Vice President. As a result of that per capita availability of milk has also increased from 112 grams per day to 263 grams per day, however, elements such as low productivity of animals, breeding programmes, feed and fodder, and research should be addressed. The real benefit of milk cooperative has been to both –farmers and national economy.

Students of IRMA come in to contact with real and creative aspects, the rural managers will strive to connect with different organizational structures and situation in rural India that will also enrich their understanding of the core problems faced by citizens.

“IRMA was established with a vision that the systems and skills for benign vision ought to be in place. Mangers trained at IRMA will work with the same commitment and resolve,” said Prof Y.K.Alagh, Chairman IRMA.

Vice President awarded degrees to a sum of 102 students in Post Graduate Programme in Rural management.
