Hon. CM Smt. Anandiben Patel Attends Khel Mahakumbh 2014 Closing Ceremony at Ahmedabad

On her birthday, Hon. CM of Gujarat Smt. Anandiben Patel attended the closing ceremony of the Khel Maahakumbh 2014 at Police Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Hon. CM Smt. Anandiben Patel stepped down from the stage to toss the coin for the final of the Rope Pull contest between Patan and Gandhinagar women above age 60. She encouraged the women in the contest and showed great enthusiasm for them.

Smt. Anandiben congratulated all the winners, participants and activists at the event. Smt. Patel shared that from the coming year, participation at the event will be compulsory for all schools in the state. She also shared that all children having showed prowess in sports will get special international standard coaching in the May vacations. She also declared that from the next year, School Band competition will also be included in this Mahakumbh.

Encouraging all the participants, Hon. CM said that anyone who played with sportsman spirit is a winner. She also elaborated that students need technological aid to help their muscles develop and excel at sports. To that end, she shared that in the next budget, there will be a special consideration for the introduction of such sophisticated exercise equipments at schools.

Smt. Anandiben Patel expressed her desire for students and other participants to continue their sports after this event as well.

Hon. MoS of Sports, Youth and Cultural activities Shri Nanubhai Vanani, MPs Shri Kiritbhai Solanki and Shri Paresh Rawal, Secretary – Sports, Youth & Cultural Dept. Shri Bhagyeshbhai Jha, Ahmedabad Mayor Smt. Meenakshiben Patel, and many other dignitaries graced the event with their presence.
