Guj CM holds a high-level meet to review rainfall across the State, takes stock of administration’s preparedness to meet the situation

In the wake of ongoing rainfall all over the state, Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel held a high level meeting with senior secretaries today in the evening to take review of the preparedness of the administration to meet any kind of situation that may occur.

In the meeting, Chief Secretary Shri G. R. Aloriya and other senior secretaries of the concerned departments gave detailed information about the measures taken by their respective departments.

CM Smt Patel assessed the condition of the crops and available fertilizer as all the talukas have now received good rain.

It was informed in the meeting that the fresh inflow of water in Narmada Dam was of 1,34,000 cusec on Monday evening and about 900 MW electricity is being generated. CM Smt Patel asked about the situation of canals in this regard. Officials of the water resources department informed the CM that there is fresh receipt of water in about 49 water bodies and 30 water bodies have already been reached 70% of their capacity.

CM Smt Patel took the review of the preventive measures taken for the diseases like Malaria, Dengue, Diarrhea, etc. She also gave instructions to Urban Development and Panchayat Departments to take measures for cleaning.

The regional head of the meteorological department gave information about the possible heavy rain in the coming days.
