Accelerating pace of Gatisheel Gujarat, CM reviews progress of various schemes

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel today called on the district administrations to co-operate with skill-development centers which are providing training to the youths as per the needs for skilled human force for the industries, which have come to Gujarat as an outcome of the recently concluded Vibrant Summit here.

This was stated by the Chief Minister while heading the state level joint meeting of district collectors and district development officers held here.

CM Smt Patel launched ‘Taluka Planning Atlas’, featuring complete profile of Talukas. Leveraging GIS technology, the Atlas will empower taluka level development, speed up decision making process and will facilitate government functioning at District levels that will in turn lead to efficient delivery of public services.

During the meeting, CM Smt Patel had guided the district administrations to develop an internet based online ‘File Tracking System’ so that the common citizen and applicant can check the present status of their applications.

The meeting was also attended by Road Building Minister Mr. Nitinbhai Patel, Finance Minister Mr. Saurabhbhai Patel, Rural Development Minister Mr. Jayantibhai Kavadiya and ministers of state – Mrs. Vasuben, Mr. Chhatrasinhji, and Mr. Rajnibhai Patel, and Chief Secretary Mr. D. J. Pandian and senior secretaries.

With a determination to make Gujarat as free from making defecation in open space, CM Smt Patel had urged that every district must have least one tehsil which is having sanitation facilities available in total. To spread awareness about “Swachhta – Swastha” on larger scale among locals, the CM Smt Patel suggested to conduct stree-plays, swachhta garbas, poems and others constructive programme based on the same theme.

Referring to that the state government has given priority to the development of the district and local works, CM Smt Patel said that district administration should coordinate to ensure that essential local works needed to be completed on priority be included in the budget of 2015-16.

Various District Collectors made presentation of special work done for public services in their respective districts – the best practices in this conference. In this regard CM Smt Patel learned the summary of the experiment done through public partnership for malnutrition-free by Vadodara Collector and ordered to construct a committee under the leadership of the Chief Secretary and to distribute it to the other districts.

She also suggested the District Collectors to make special follow-up in District level Bankers’ Committee for quick permission of subsidy in Bank Loan interest assistance for the youth entrepreneurs and to look after the schemes for youth entrepreneurs and self-employment under the Swavlamban Programme of the State.

CM Smt Patel also suggested them to make proceedings with the Road and Building and Panchayat Departments for constructing facilities in newly constructed districts’ Jilla Sewa Sadan, Residence of the staffs and other ancillary facilities.

Revenue, Health, Women Child Welfare, Panchayat etc departments’ works related to the district administration also were reviewed in this meeting.
