Gujarat CM inaugurates a new Godhra-Panchmahal Police Range for better policing and to ensure safety in tribal districts

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel inaugurated a new Godhra-Panchmahal Police Range, covering three districts of Mahisagar, Panchmahal and Dahod, in Godhra city today.

On this occasion, CM Smt Patel stated that a new Govind Guru University has already been given for the convenience of the students of this tribal area and today this new Police Range is dedicated to ensure safety and create confidence in the people of this area.

Explaining the importance of law and order, CM Smt Patel stated that it is very important to maintain peace and harmony in the state. She said that anti-social elements must be eliminated from the society and appealed everybody to boldly oppose such elements.

CM Smt Patel said that it is really a matter of happiness that women are confidently use ‘181’ helpline to resist domestic or social violence. She also informed about Home Department’s similar ‘1091’ helpline. She shared that even men can take help of these help-lines to save themselves from any kind of harassment. She appealed everybody to fearlessly inform police about such anti-social elements to make life peaceful. She also informed about ‘Women Empowerment Fortnight’ being observed from 1st to 15th August in the state.

Talking about the state government’s initiatives to create a disciplined society, CM Smt Patel talked about projects like Student Police Cadets (SPC) and Women Security Committee and stated that this can be helpful in eradicating social evils. She lauded the awakening among the children about nation building and said that the values of discipline, social service, attitude, etc. should be instilled from the childhood to make them good citizens. She said that Women Security Committees are formed to combat crime against women and to create confidence among women for self-defence.

CM Smt Patel said that the atmosphere of peace is the driving force behind the development of Gujarat. She stated that peace and prosperity go hand in hand.

Mentioning the play ‘Swachhata Abhiyan’ performed by children in the beginning of the event, CM Smt Patel emphasised on the importance of cleanliness and added that to maintain cleanliness is everybody’s responsibility, and not just government.

On this occasion, State Home Minister Shri Rajanikantbhai Patel, State Minister Shri Bachubhai Khabad, MPs Shri Prabhatsinh Chauhan and Shri Jaswantsinh Bhabhor, MLAs, District Panchayat Presidents, Senior Police officials, officers of Home Department, District Administrative officers, social leaders and people in large number remained present.
