Hon’ble CM launches magazine Samaj Samvedna, an initiative to re-awaken Dalits

Hon’ble Chief Minister Shrimati Anandiben Patel launched a social reformer magazine Samaj Samvedna – Ek Vaicharik Aandolan (Social Empathy — a movement of thoughts) at Ahmedabad Management Association on Sunday. She congratulated the entire team of the magazine for coming up with the noble thought of encouraging community bonding through the medium of literature.

Sharing one of the instances of her life, Smt. Anandiben Patel disclosed that going against the tradition of her community; she called the police to her relative’s place to stop child marriage, changing the outlook of the community.

On this occasion Chief Minister said that unless affluent people from different communities don’t take their community along, a society cannot progress. She appealed aware and educated people to help government in spreading awareness about government schemes and volunteer for social work and also urged people to ensure that state government’s scholarship given to dalit students and girls for education is properly utilized, which will help transform the society.

Chief Minister appealed dalit community to step forward and bring change in the society by adopting Anganwadi and supporting children coming from the poor section of the society. Stressing on the importance of cleanliness and hygiene, Smt. Patel said that sanitation, especially for women, is need of the hour and society should come together to resolve the issue.

Smt. Anandiben Patel urged people to rise above superstitions and abolish social evils that tarnish societal structure. Elaborating on eradication of social ills and superstitions, she said, “Stand up against social begot and superstitions for eradication of social ills and development of society.”

She earnestly asked people to spread awareness about government schemes in sections and classes so that government can succeed in achieving objective of schemes. Chief Minister also briefed about soon to commence government initiative of providing ‘Health Card’ worth Rs. 2 lakh to the families having annual income of Rs. 1.20 lakh and appealed people to support state government in the efforts to reform the society.

Shri Ramanbhai Vora, Minister Social Justice and Empowerment, renowned social reformer Satchitanad Swami, MP and Dalit spiritual leader Shambhunath Tundiya were among other dignitaries who attended magazine launch.
