Congress party's attempts to save Bhatt and anti-Modi NGOs efforts to malign Modi Government exposed
Gujarat Govt has no connection with arrest of IPS Sanjiv Bhatt
- Gujarat Minister Jay Narayan Vyas

Gandhinagar, Monday: Gujarat Government's Spokesperson-Minister Jay Narayan Vyas said here today that the arrest of IPS officer of Gujarat cadre Sanjiv Bhatt has nothing to do with the government. He was arrested on the basis of FIR filed by individuals as per the Criminal Procedure Code.

However, Mr. Vyas said, the arrest has exposed the Congress party and anti-Narendra Modi NGOs attempt to save the officer, as confirmed by their day-night operations to malign the government.

As per the law of the land, any accused is liable to be arrested following a complaint by any citizen. In Sanjiv Bhatt's case too, the law is taking its own course. But feeling the slippery ground under their feet, Congress leaders have now gone jittery.

Mr. Vyas said that while the Congress spokesman Manu Sanghvi at his press conference in New Delhi today described Mr. Modi as a dictator, forgetting what is dictatorship when was Mrs. Indira Gandhi of Congress had literally converted the entire nation into a prison during the Emergency. The nation could not forget the darkest chapter of the democracy. Incidentally, the present Congress-ruled Centre is using the same anti-democratic and anti-Constitutional tactics to silence the voice of Opposition.

He said there could not be worse example of revenge than the extent to which the Congress had gone to protect Hasan Ali.

Mr. Vyas said that the police officer Bhatt is facing several criminal charges ever since he joined the service in 1988 and the present case took place before 2001, before the Modi Government. And, yet, the prejudiced Congress link it to the present incumbent, exposing itself in its wrong acts just to malign the Modi Government.
