Gujarat CM Launches Mukhya Mantri Nidaan Yojana at Mahemdabad, Kheda

Gujarat CM Smt. Anandiben Patel launched and dedicated several developmental works at Mahemdabad today.

Speaking on the occasion of World Health Day, she highlighted various initiatives and schemes launched by the government to ensure that every citizen of the state lives a healthy life. Giving impetus to the government’s efforts to ensure that poor and middle-class people do not have to incur huge expenses for their health treatment, CM Smt. Patel announced that from now on people would not have to go to private laboratories for various checkups and diagnosis tests as the government has decided to increase the number of tests that are performed free of cost at almost all PHC, CHC, Sub-centers, District & Sub-district hospitals and medical colleges across the state under the Mukhya Mantri Nidaan Yojana. A list of available tests at any specific government center will be displayed to educate people about the kinds of tests being offered. She also announced that gradually government health centers and hospitals will start conducting all kinds of tests and checkups. She added that doctors have been properly trained and all the equipment has been provided to them to implement this welfare initiative. She also announced that the state government has started free screening and treatment for breast and cervical cancer for women. Over 77 lakh women have been screened and out of them, 1046 have been diagnosed with cancer and are undergoing free of cost treatment at government hospitals. The government has also initiated free screening and treatment of diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure for all citizens of the state. Under this initiative, patients of these diseases will receive free monthly check-ups and medicines on a lifelong basis.

CM Smt. Patel emphasized on the need for pregnant women of the state to have deliveries at hospitals and health centers and not at home. She said that women and their infant are at high risk in such deliveries which are done at home. She urged people to respect the lives and health of women and children and make sure that no deliveries take place outside the hospitals. She also informed that the government provides free surgery to children with cleft lip and till today over 2500 children have been treated with surgeries at the cost of the government.

She also highlighted various pro-farmer initiatives like loans up to Rs. 3 lakh at 1% interest rate, Pradhan Mantri Paak Bima Yojana etc. She also added that Rs. 80 lakh have been deposited in accounts of Sarpanchs for development works in villages. She further elaborated that in this year’s budget under the Mukhya Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, 2500 crore have been allocated for road works for this year. Also, the government has recently decided that disability certificates would not have to be renewed every 5 years from now on as it would be provided on a lifelong basis.

On this occasion, she also inaugurated Kheda Jilla Aarogya Darpan book, Mukhya Mantri Nidaan Yojana book, and various other development works.
