“It is Always Satisfying to See Children Joining School”, Says Guj CM at Heranj Primary School in Kheda During Shala Praveshotsav

On the second day of annual Shala Praveshotsav drive for rural areas, Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel visited Heranj Primary School of Mahudha taluka in Kheda district.

While enrolling 42 children in Anganwadi and 86 children in Std-1, CM Smt Patel stated that it is always satisfying to see children joining Anganwadi or School. She added that initial years of primary education are the most important phase of their life.

Talking about the importance of activity-based learning, CM Smt Patel said teachers and parents should focus on cultivating inner talents of children and encourage them to grow and progress in areas of their interest, instead of criticizing his weakness in some subjects.

CM Smt Patel talked about instilling values in children and stated that the future of the nation belongs to today’s children, so it is our responsibility to prepare our children with positive values. She went on to say that noble qualities should be instilled when the child is in the womb. She also talked about the importance of maternal and child health and nutrition. She also talked about shocking child sex ratio before 2001 and stated that thanks to the focused approach of the BJP government and increasing awareness in the society, the child sex ratio in Gujarat in now 904 girls against 1000 boys, which was 802 girls against 1000 boys earlier.

CM Smt Patel shared that the BJP-led state government has always emphasized on creating quality education and educational infrastructure. She further stated that we have ensured that every child goes to school and attain quality education. She added that during the rule of earlier governments, the dropout rate for elementary section in Gujarat was 37%, which has now brought down to 2% and enrolment ratio rising to nearly 100%, due to rigorous attempts of the state government. While wishing the newly enrolled children, she said that our children are our future, hence ‘Shala Praveshotsav’ and ‘Kanya Kelavani’ drive is an endeavor of the state government towards awakening of the society for creating a better future.
