Gujarat CM decides to appoint Retired Mamlatdar-Dy. Mamlatdar-Dy. Collectors on contract basis

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani has decided to appoint retired Mamlatdar, Deputy Mamlatdar and Deputy Collectors on the vacant post of Chief Officers in 60 municipalities out of 162 municipalities on contractual basis. This decision was taken after discussion in a meeting held with Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Development Minister.

These contractual appoints will be made for 11 month contract till Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) may appoint successful candidates on the post of Chief Officers. In this contract, Retired Mamlatdar will get Rs. 40,000, Retired Deputy Mamlatdar will get Rs. 30,000 and Retired collector will get Rs. 60,000 salary per month.

It also has been decided that contractual appointees to be appointed on the post of Chief Officer whose date of retirement is before 1st January 2016 and should be below 62 year and there should not be any departmental investigation.

State Government also decided that authority to appoint Mamlatdar and Deputy Mamlatdar to be given to Collector, District Development Officer and Road & Building (State) Executive Engineers’ committee. Such as for appointment of retired Deputy Collectors, authority has been given to Chief Minister and Urban Development Minister.
