Gujarat CM Expresses Her Commitment to Provide Education to Tribal Students at Their Door-step in Agiya in Sabarkantha

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel dedicated a model school and Kanya Nivasi Shala, constructed at a cost of Rs. 29.70 crore in the tribal village Agiya situated in Khedbrahma taluka of Sabarkantha district. Along with providing education to 1020 tribal students, a hostel, mess and teachers’ houses have also been constructed in the campus. On the occasion of the dedication ceremony she felicitated bright students of the district and has also inaugurated Vijaynagar public health centre.

CM Smt Patel released a district irrigation plan as a part of Prime Minister Agriculture Irrigation Scheme, which has been prepared by the district administration. She distributed forest right certificates to Vanbandhus. On the occasion, various donours handed over cheques worth Rs. 3.50 lakh for Kanya Kelavni Nidhi to CM Smt Patel.

In her speech, CM Smt Patel said that the state government is committed to provide best education to tribal girl-boy students at their door-step. It is our aim to provide education to children of Vanbandhus who are spending their time to collect forest products. We have extended education to the remotest villages by making school-colleges available at taluka level, she added.

She handed over cheques to tribal families for their earnings in selling of forest products and handed over certificate to Daramali village for fulfilling the vision of skilling village under Skill India Mission. She briefed them about various health check-up schemes run by the government. She called on children to cultivate five thousand trees in the school campus.

On this occasion, Secretary to Tribal Development Department Shri R. C. Meena, Chairman of District Panchayat, Chairman to State Tribal Development Corporation Smt Ramilaben Bara, Former Minister Shri Prafulbhai Patel, Shri Jaisinh Chauhan, MLA Shri Rajendrasinh Chavda, Shri Ashwinbhai Kotwal, District Collector Shri P. Swaroop, DDO Shri Harsh Vyas, government officers and tribal people in huge number remained present.
