Gujarat CM presides over All Regional Students Conference of ICAI at Ahmedabad

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani said here today that chartered accountants (CAs) have the moral duty and big responsibility of checking the loot of country’s money and its conversion into black money, and taking the Indian economy in the right direction.

Addressing the All India CA Students Conference held under the aegis of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India-Ahmedabad Chapter, CM Shri Rupani said that CAs should ensure Gujarat maintained its image and esteem as the state has emerged as the growth engine of India.

He said this CA students’ conference assumed special significance as it is being held in the backdrop of India having taken a new turn. He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has kept his words announced at the time assuming office two years back that he would rein in the black money and did it with Dhan Jan Yojna, Income Disclosure Scheme (IDS), Demonetization and Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Referring to widespread support to Shri Narendra Modi’s efforts to strike at the black money, CM Shri Rupani hoped that his measures would result in fall in fiscal deposit and the remainder money would reach the last man in the last mile. The recent bye-election to civic bodies in the state vindicated Shri Narendra Modi’s decision, notwithstanding public rallies in protest. He said that a host of defence, aero space, food processing and other industries are now coming to the state, creating new jobs for the CAs.

ICAI Ahmedabad Chapter Chairman Shri Vikas Jain, MLA Shri Rakeshbhai Shah, noted CA Shri Sunil Talati, Shri Jainik Vakil, Shri Dheenal Shah, Shri Rakesh Sharma, Shri Aniket Talati, Shri Nirav Choksi and many others remained present on this occasion.
