Gujarat CM Asks Officials and Sarpanchs to Work Together to Solve Rural Problems During Lok Samvad Setu Program at Talala in Gir-somnath

Gujarat Chief Minister Smt Anandiben Patel, in another Lok Samvad Setu program organized today in Gir-Somnath district’s Talala village, interacted with people about their local issues, mainly related to revenue, roads, education, electricity, forest and water supply and solved almost all 209 issues on the spot and also gave necessary direction to government officials to take prompt actions.

In an important announcement, CM Smt Patel said that 17 villages of Talala taluka will be included in Gamtal for the residential purpose and the state government will also pay Rs. 4 crore to Forest Department in this regard. She instructed forest officers to improve the forest road conditions and allow farmers to use the roads without any kind of harassment. She also told the forest officials to jointly solve the issues of villagers within two months. She informed that assistance for fencing will be provided for protection from wild animals from the state budget. She also declared that new as well as existing rural and forest roads will be covered under Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana.

CM Smt Patel asked the officials to take a humanitarian approach and directed them to take quick actions to solve farmers’ problems related to PGVCL and revenue records. She guided the officials to correct the errors of land revenue records. She also directed officers of the education department to take pro-active approach and start the building of class-rooms after carrying out a survey so that the work can be completed by June and can be useful for new academic term.

To satisfy the need of drinking water in the summer, she guided the concerned officers to supply water by digging borewells or through tankers without any inequality and dishonesty. She suggested Sarpanchs to maintain a register of tankers to keep check on the supply.

CM Smt Patel asked the officials and Sarpanchs of the villages to work together to solve most of the problems at village level and directed officials to visit villages regularly to extend the benefits of the welfare schemes of the government. She stated that Sarpanchs have enormous powers and get plenty of money as grants from the government. She suggested them to use the fund allocated to them for the development of the village in the same year without any kind of delay.

CM Smt Patel told that the issues presented before me will be reviewed in the next Lok Samvad Setu program which will be conducted after four months. She stated that the government is committed to fulfill all the promises made to the people of Gujarat.
