CM Emphasizes eco-friendly growth of chemical sector

Ahmedabad, Saturday:Chief Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his desire to lead the global chemical manufacturing market by maintaining balance between growth and environmental factors. He has also stressed on the research in environment technology to become global leader.

Chief Minister said this while inaugurating Asia's biggest exhibition of colour chemicals manufacturing products - Asia Inter-dye Exhibition - at Gujarat University's convention centre in Ahmedabad. The exhibition is jointly organized by dyestuff manufacturing associations of India and China for the first time in Gujarat and about 450 manufacturers of Asia will participate in it.

Chief Minister expressed desire that Central government, technical universities and chemical industries association make a joint plan to develop a common platform for R&D in chemical sector. He exhorted manufacturers to develop brand image for the green chemicals.

Chief Minister pointed out that the rich countries are not entering in dyestuff industries as they are scared of terrible pollution that is attached with it. It is both a challenge and an opportunity for us to achieve an eco-friendly growth in the chemical sector, he said.

President of China dyestuff manufacturing association said he was impressed by the ties between the companies of Gujarat and China. Chief Minister thanked the Chinese government for its positive approach in developing industrial relationship between Gujarat and China.

President of Indian dyestuff manufacturing association Ram Ajarekar and Secretary to government of India K.George Siviya praised the development of chemical industries in Gujarat.

A delegation of Pakistan's dyestuff industrialists showed great interest in having a group photo with the Chief Minister and having his autograph personally. Members of the delegation said that they want to learn a great deal from Gujarat and they will take with them many things that they learnt from Gujarat.

Minister of State for Industries Saurabh Patel and industries leaders were present on the occasion.
