Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi while addressing Climate Leaders Summit held in coppenhagan by way of a specially recorded video message and charted out Gujarat's initiative on Climate Change by making it the Indian laboratory of low carbon technologies. The strides in harnessing wind power potential, the firm determination to establish world's largest Solar Power Park of around 3000 MW, reductions in emissions by extensive use of natural gas and multidimensional programmes for adaptation of vulnerable communities were some of the highlights of his address. He also exhorted the leaders present to come forward and cooperate with Gujarat in helping fight Climate Change.
 
He was the only state Chief Minister from India to have addressed this summit which was attended, among others by President Nasheed of Maldives, Premier Mike Rann of South Australia, Prince Albert of Monaco, Helen Clark former Prime Minister of New Zealand, Premier Jean Charest of Quebec(Canada), Premier Gordon Campbell of British Colombia, Governor Chris Gregoire of Washington, Governor Jim Doyle of Wisconsin, Governor Jose Serra of Sao Paulo, Minister amarkus Soeder of Bavaria, MinisterErik Van Heijningen of South Holland.
 
Many CEOs of world renowned companies like Cisco, Scottish Power, Duke Energy, Current group etc and senior diplomats from Australia, Germany, France, US, UK were also present on the occasion. Many of the top financial institutions of the world, insurance refinancing companies have shown serious interest in financing the Solar Park of Gujarat being developed with the help of Clinton's Climate Initiative.
