Gujarat CM Addresses Conference of District Collectors

Guj CM Smt. Anandiben Patel today attended one day conference of district collectors in Gandhinagar where she gave directions to the collectors on various issues. She urged them to ensure transparency in N.A process by organizing open sessions for two days every month.

Addressing the district collectors, she said that the purpose of each program is to reach out to the last man in the last mile of the state. In this context, she appealed to the collectors to guide district administration team in interpretation and implementation of government notifications. She added that file tracking system will now be more compact to help applicants get information of their files at their doorsteps.

CM Smt. Patel directed collectors to form 10 teams of district officials who visit any two villages every month with a view to resolve pending issues by arranging consultation with villagers-leaders-office bearers of the respective villages. She also made a suggestion to make proper management for providing food and fodders to the areas affected by scarcity and semi-scarcity.

She also said that LoksamvadSetu has become a platform for people to present their grievances. She guided the officials to give priority to public grievance redressal through LoksamvadSetu.

In addition to her announcement to organize such meetings at state level on monthly basis, CM Smt. Patel clearly said that presenting reviews of work under development on the basis of instructions given during previous meetings is more important than presenting new suggestions and new issues in the monthly meetings.

She called on to make complete usage of L.E.D. bulbs in district collector offices and SevaSadans as a part of the Ujala scheme and declared that the government is determined to encourage the usage of such L.E.Ds in the whole secretariat and ministers’ offices including the CMO situated in Gandhinagar.

In the beginning of the meeting, Chief Secretary Mr. G. R. Aloriya recommended collectors to achieve targets by performing district-wise review of various flagship schemes of the state and central governments. Principal Secretary to Revenue Department Mr. K. Shrinivas briefed them about CM Smt. Patel’s pro-people decisions for simplification of revenue process. He also added that guidance has been provided regarding implementation, planning and achievement of targets of various schemes launched by the government during the workshop. Senior Secretaries and District Collectors remained present in the conference.
