CISCO and GIFT City sign MoU for Smart City domain in presence of Gujarat CM

Global digitization firm CISCO and Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT) today signed MoU to jointly provide public Wi-Fi, Smart Parking, Smart Transportation, Traffic Analytics and Remote Expert Services to develop it as the country’s first Greenfield GIFT Smart City near the state capital in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani.

The MoU also covered linking the Smart Kiosk, Smart Environmental Centre to monitor climate and noise pollution with the city’s digital platform, and set up City Command and Control Centre jointly with the CISCO local ecosystem solution providers to provide effective transportation system at Gandhinagar and GIFT City.

Global experts from CISCO would specially develop Applications for the GIFT City in Intellectual Property Rights, Internet of Things (IoT), Application of Mobile technology, Cloud Computing and Data Analysis.

As the name implies, GIFT City is taking shape as an international financial hub for global financial institutions, banks and corporate houses to set up their offices on the 862-acre campus as a pet project of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi initiated when he as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Those present on during the signing ceremony included Chief Secretary Dr. J. N. Singh, Additional Chief Secretary for Industries Shri P. K. Taneja, CISCO President Shri Dinesh Malkani, GIFT CEO Shri Ajay Pandey and iCreate CEO Shri Anupam Jalote.
