On the last day of Gunotsav, Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi visited 102 years old Primary Girls School of Ladol village. Pledging himself vastly for implementing benchmarks of primary education, Chief Minister is taking surprise visit to supervise the quality of primary education. During Gayakvad-rule, the school was established in the year 1907. Chief Minister expressed his regrets that he really missed the ‘centenary-year celebrations' of school.
During informal discussions, Chief Minister explained the objective of Gunotsav, “Government spends crores of rupees after primary education. Even though, the quality of Primary Education has not improved. It has happened because parents are not aware about the education of their kids. My government has reached up to grassroots' with an intention to uplift quality of primary education. I want to awaken the soul of teaching fraternity. They have to perform a great job. They are going to determine the future of children. Through Gunotsav, we have been trying to instill new soul in to the system. “
Reaffirming his firm commitment to upgrade quality of primary education, Chief Minister announced that Government would organize Gunotsav every year. He has given directives to education department for enabling consistent dialogue between parents and teachers. He has asked the officials to prepare a list of schools which are completing 100 years. Government would allocate funds to them for centenary year celebrations.
Shri Narendrabhai Modi took test of students, he moved from one class to another, evaluated reading –writing skills in girls, also conducted maths test. He gathered first hand information about the advantages of Yoga-Pranayam, advantages of sports and benefits of educational tours. Another motivation came from him about nurturing physical and mental development of children.
He took a vow to eradicate the scourge that progressive state like Gujarat has not done up to the mark in primary education. Gunotsav would deliver optimal results. He made various insightful suggestions.
