Chief Minister Office (CMO) is the focal point of GoG, performing Innovative, constructive and result oriented progressive policies for the promotion of e-governance in the State. It acts as a catalyst to play a significant role in the affairs of the State.

Delivery of the services (with efficiency and transparency) to the citizens is the primary objective the Chief Minister’s Office. It adopts leadership, people, process, partnership and resources in process to enhance e-governance Initiatives of GoG.

Hon’ble CM’s Office, Gujarat has received the certification for ISO 9001:2008 with original approval on 2nd January, 2009 with scope related to administration and overall governance. Effective use of IT has played an important role in getting this certification. CM office implements the e-Government strategies and professional IT development which contribute to achieve positive transformation - ‘Change for Performance’.

Active participation in governance by Hon’ble CM with Infrastructure, Policies and egovernance Road map, charter to implement ICT as a vehicle for transforming Gujarat into a knowledge-based, economically vibrant, democratic and inclusive society. CMO plays a vital role in sustaining the democratic ethos of the society and ensuring a high level of transparency in governance. It further focus on ‘Digital gap’ and implements ICT enabled egovernance in almost every sector of socio-economic activity ranging from Industrial Production to Education and Public Healthcare for improvement in the quality and efficiency of human endeavors. It encourages E-readiness initiatives in CMO and all ministerial and Department offices.

CMO is also geared for environment Initiatives with separate Department for Climate change, Asia’s first and 4th State/province in the world to have Dept. for Climate Change. The Department will act as a bridge between government and society to address the issues related to global warming.

CM believes ‘Good governance is also good politics’ and his model of good governance with addition to ‘Good e-governance’ is being applauded within the country and beyond.
